Grammys In My District Day x SG+Co. CEO Crystal E.

On October 26, 2016, Southern Girl CEO Crystal E. participated in Grammys In My District along with Paul Wall, Teresa Jenkins (Executive Director of Texas Chapter), Byron Banks and Congressman Gene Greene. They discussed the current state of music and how it affects the creator community as in songwriters, producers, engineers and artists. It was a very effective meeting with Mr. Greene making a verbal commitment in doing his part to bring this issues to the floor of the Senate and House of Representatives.

This unprecedented grassroots initiative enables members to advocate for creators’ rights in their own hometowns. This year, over 2,000 Academy members from across the country have registered to engage with members of Congress at home in their district offices on October 26, 2016. Now is the most critical time for music creators in decades. GRAMMYs in My District is our opportunity to show members of Congress that a vibrant music community lives, works, and votes in their districts.
